Biography
Dr. Antje Jackelén was the Archbishop of the Church of Sweden (2014-2022) and bishop of Lund. She was a professor at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (2001-2007) and currently advises at Lund University. She directed the Zygon Center for Religion and Science and was president of ESSSAT. Her research focuses on science-theology dialogue, religion’s societal role, ecumenism, and interfaith dialogue. She holds honorary doctorates and has written “God is Greater” and “Otålig i hoppet.” She served as Nordic VP of the Lutheran World Federation and Co-president of Religions for Peace, and now serves on the Faith and Order Commission of the World Council of Churches.
